For Amit Mishra, Shikhar Dhawan has ability to do it single-handedly for Delhi Capitals

"He is a local lad and has been doing really well." Delhi Capitals, the capital-based franchise which has remained the bigger under-achievers among the original teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has revamped itself this time with a renewed zeal. The franchise's name has been changed from Delhi Daredevils and it has also tightened its squad for the mission. Ace India opener Shikhar Dhawan has also returned to his home-based franchise this year and is expected to deliver big time. Senior spinner Amit Mishra has a high hope about the southpaw who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad till last year before changing base. Mishra believes that Dhawan is able to single-handedly win games for the Capitals who will kick off their campaign against former champions Mumbai Indians one of the toughest outfits in the fray in an away game on March 24, a day after the tournament begins. Dhawan though is not in great touch at the moment Led by Shreyas Iyer who is in good touch at the moment, the Capitals have some big names in their ranks to win them their maiden title but according to Mishra, who also plays for Capitals and has three hat-tricks in the IPL, Dhawan is the man who can make the real difference. Dhawan is currently playing for India in a five-match ODI series against Australia and has over 4,000 runs in the IPL. The dashing left-hander though hasn't hit a fifty since scoring 66 in an ODI against New Zealand in January. The Capitals brought back Dhawan from the Sunrisers in exchange of three players: Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma which shows how much weight the man carries. "Looking forward for him (Dhawan) joining the team. He is a local lad and has been doing really well for Team India. I hope he brings similar sort of performances for DC and wins games for us this season. We are getting a good opener in him and a right hand-left hand combination at the top will surely help in balancing the side," Mishra, 36, told Hindustan Times in an exclusive interview.
