The defending champions Mumbai Indians have got off to a horrible start, they have lost all their matches so far (three last ball/wicket defeats) and are bottom of the table but such has been the manner of defeats that it gives Mumbai some hope to turn things around.
They have a chance to make amends but their opponents for the next game, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to kick-start their own season. RCB have lost two matches, most recent one against Rajasthan Royals. Despite their top players performing well, there are holes that are opening up time and again as they continue to underachieve.
A day ahead of the game, Mumbai Indians gave their fringe players considerable time in the nets and RCB decided to take rest. Both team desperately needs a win to get their season going.
In terms of head-to-head, the two sides have faced each other 21 times, in which Mumbai Indians have won 13 while RCB picked up 8 wins.
