Bajrang Punia’s coach has been asked to take a bigger pay cut
He draws a monthly salary of approx $6000(Rs. 4.5 lakh) as per his contract signed prior to lockdown.
The Wrestling Federation of India wants Shako Bentinidis, personal coach of Bajrang Punia, to take a pay cut if he desires to continue.
Shako has been giving online sessions to punia from the comforts of his home in Georgia since lockdowns. He draws a monthly salary of approx $6000(Rs. 4.5 lakh) as per his contract signed prior to lockdown.
He flew back to Georgia in March after the wrestling camps in Sonepat and Lucknow were suspended due to coronavirus situation. Shako is on the direct payrolls of the WFI for being Punia’s personal coach and his salary comes from the federation’s principal sponsor, Tata Motors.
