Silver medalist, Deepak Punia wrestler found covid positive.

Depak Punia tested covid positive with 2 more senior men wrestler.SAI moved them into hospital for further monitoring.

Deepak Punia, (86kg) ,silver medalist in world championship & Navin (65kg) ,Krishna (125 kg) senior in men’s  wrestling they were tested COVID-19 positive. Sports Authority of India (SAI) stated they all were tested positive in centre of Sonipat.

SAI moved them to hospital for monitoring. As per SAI all wrestlers would be tested, upon arrival it was a protocol .All wrestler with coaches & staff to keep everything controlled for reassurance went a mandatory RT-PCR test to detect Covid-19.

Punia will be representing in Tokyo Olympics. Vinesh Phogat now have been recovered from Coronavirus, after being tested negative twice. She will remain in isolation for preventive measure. Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award was not accepted by her because during that time she was tested positive .One of the single women wrestler who has qualified for Tokyo Olympics.
