Sushil Kumar's coach applies for Padma Bhushan for the Olympic medallist
On the nomination for the prestigious award, Sushil said, “Coach Yashveer has applied for Padma Bhushan award for me.”
Sushil Kumar, India’s only athlete to have won two Olympic medal in Beijing (bronze) and London (silver) has been honored by national by awarding him Arjun Award (2005) Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna (2009) and the coveted Padma Shree (2011) for his outstanding performance and contribution in the field of wrestling.
And since the sports ministry nominated badminton star PV Sindhu while BCCI nominated former India skipper MS Dhoni for Padma Bhushan, the Olympic medalist’s coach has applied for the Padma Bhushan for his ward.
On the nomination for the prestigious award, Sushil said, “Coach Yashveer has applied for Padma Bhushan award for me.”
Sushil, being the understated athlete and man he is, has been away from the media limelight.
