Jinder Mahal, ‘The Modern Day Maharaja’ failed to regain the WWE Championship against people’s champion AJ Styles at Clash of Champions.

Jinder Mahal started hot, gaining crucial momentum, targeting Styles ribs but peoples champ survived the early onslaught and worked on Mahal’s hamstrings.

Mahal though hit the Khallas but Styles kicked out before proceeding to lock the Calf Crusher. Mahal tapped and Styles retained his title.

In other title clash, women’s championship Charlotte Flair defeated Natalya to retain the title in a Lumberjack match while The USOS also retained their Tag Team Championship. United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler beat Baron Corbin (c) and Bobby Roode to win the title via pinfall.
