Aus vs BP XI: Australia batters dominate in the practice match
Australia won the toss and decided to bat first in this warm up game at the MA Chidambram Stadium in Chennai. Opener David Warner lived up to the expectation and continued his good form as he hammered the bowlers all over the park in his 48 ball 64 knock. Captain Steve Smith and Travis Head also scored vital half centuries.
In their first practice match in the tour to India, Australia’s batsman gave a glimpse of their capabilities as they put a massive score of 347 runs in their allotted 50 overs.

Captain Steve Smith and Travis Head also scored vital half centuries, hence boosting their confidence ahead of the all important One Day international series. All-rounder Marcus Stoinis and wicket keeper batsman Matthew Wade’s quickfire knocks helped finish the innings in style , sending a message to the Indian team .

Amongst the bowlers, young Washington Sundar who had come into limelight during the IPL impressed once again as he gave just 23 runs in 8 overs and picked up two crucial wickets including Australian captain Steve Smith’s price scalp.

The aussies went in without Aaron Finch who is suffering from a calf injury but is expected to be fit till the 1st One Day International on Sunday. Because its an unofficial game, Australia have the option of playing more than 11 players and prepare the right combination.
