The Belmont Stakes is the final leg of the Triple Crown Series. It holds the most important role of the said racing showdown because it is where the Triple Crown winner is identified. It has also the longest race course and trail to test their stamina and strength of each thoroughbred racer identifying who the real Triple Crown winner looks like.

By the way, the Triple Crown Series is composed of three large horse racing legs which only happens in the United States annually. The Kentucky Derby is the kick off of the said series which took place last May 04, 2019 in Churchill Downs. In fact, this year’s edition of the “Run for the Roses” faced its first ever controversy after almost a century and a half of existence.  Jason Servis’ Maximum Security won the racing initially but later on was disqualified due to a “bumping at the pole” incident decided unanimously by the judges.

In that case, his runner-up Country House took the crown from him and was declared the 2019 Kentucky Derby winner. After the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes will follow on May 18, 2019, held in the race track of Pimlico Park, Baltimore, Maryland. In fact, Country House and Maximum Security will miss this event and fans will not see a rematch. Jason Servis told NBC that he's disappointed with the result and mentioned that there will be no more next racing event for the colt. Country House, on the other hand, is sick and might need some time to fully recover.

Although it’s quite sad not to see these colts in the upcoming Preakness Stakes, the Belmont Stakes still showcases a reason to be celebrated as horse racing isn’t about thoroughbreds, but it’s also generating an excellent value betting game. Hence, as the Belmont Stakes comes to its nearing date, few colts have confirmed their entry in the “Run for Carnations”. In fact, some of these colts were entries in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.

A few days ago, trainer Mark Casse had announced his possible slate in the upcoming Belmont Stakes. His entry by the name of Sir Winston has a great finish placing second in the recent Grade 3 Peter Pan Stakes. With this placement, Casse also said that his colt had earned enough points to make his entry in the final Belmont Stakes picks.

Actually, Sir Winston is Awesome Again’s homebred son who showed an amazing running skill in the Peter Pan Stakes. He runs so fast but still fell short which enables Global Campaign to clinch the crown but it’s a good start for him, his trainer Casse added. The Peter Pan Stakes is Sir Winton’s first victory in the Graded Stakes category. His trainer had also said in an interview that Sir Winston is an incredible horse and a real suspect for the Belmont Stakes crown this year. He also added that his colt do not need the fastest speed but an amazing running technique to edge other entries in the Belmont Stakes.

In fact, Sir Winston was on his way of attending the recent Kentucky Derby. He joined several derby trails to let him earn an automatic berth in the “Run for the Roses” but fell short that’s why he wasn’t able to make it. He also didn’t get enough points to head onto the Preakness Stakes. Despite all of these failures, he will run into the Belmont Stakes because of his Grade 3 Peter Pan Stakes victory.

In line with this colt’s achievements, Sir Winston tallied an impressive horse racing record throughout his career. He placed fifth in the Tampa Bay Derby, seventh in Bluegrass Keeneland Grade 2 Stakes, and a great second finish in Peter Pan Stakes. According to his trainer, Sir Winston’s experiences in the past races earned him so much confidence, skills, and strategies that he could bring in the Belmont Stakes. He also added that they prepared well before they will run on June 8 in Elmont Park because the Belmont Stakes has the longest trail of the Triple Crown showdown.

Sir Winston will join the line-up of the mightiest contenders for this year’s Belmont Stakes. He will face other strong contenders who will run on June 8 such as War of Will, Improbable, Game Winner and Vekoma who did a great job in the Kentucky Derby which will also be doing the same in the Preakness Stakes.

While the latest edition of the Belmont Stakes is around the corner, Sir Winston undergoes a full training according to Casse in order to cope with the running styles of his rivals. He also added that since Sir Winston run the Peter Pan Stakes which has a harder trail compared to Belmont Stakes, he will not have a hard time running the Belmont field. Finally, Casse has high hopes that Sir Winston will place big during the final leg of the Triple Crown Series.
