21-year-old Indian woman swimmer Maana Patel has qualified for the 100 m backstroke event at the Tokyo Olympics. She is the first female and third Indian swimmer to earn a spot at the Tokyo Olympics.
Patel has entered the Olympics under the Universality Quota.
Earlier Sajan Prakash and Shri Hari Natraj have qualified for the Olympics. According to a news agency, both the Indian swimmers have been nominated to compete in the 100m backstroke event as they are the highest ranked Indian swimmers in their respective events. Shrihari has points marks and Mana has 735 points.
Earlier, Sajan Prakash of Kerala had secured the quota of the Olympics.
