India's Olympic medal winners felicitated in grand ceremony, Neeraj says "this is entire nation's gold"

Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, silver medalist Ravi Dahiya, bronze medalist Bajrang Punia and the Indian hockey team were given a grand welcome on their return home. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, former Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik, besides many officials of various sports organizations were also present in this program. The hotel lobby was decorated with flowers for the event.
Neeraj Chopra, who won Olympic gold, said, "Thank you very much everyone, first of all I would like to show this. This gold is not mine, but it belongs to entire country, I have been carrying this medal in my pocket since that day. If I tell you correctly, since that day I could not sleep properly, could not eat, but whenever I took it out and saw it I think everything is fine, no problem.
Earlier, a large number of fans had gathered at the airport to welcome the players. The players were later taken to the Ashok Hotel in Delhi, where a felicitation ceremony has been organized for them.

The huge crowd that gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars returning from the historic performance did not care about the social distancing rules enforced during the pandemic. A large number of fans and some local leaders were present along with family members inside and outside the airport. The fans were waving the Indian tricolor and cheering the medal winning players as they sang and danced to the tunes of the dhol and the band.
