After months of speculation, Indian skipper Virat Kohli tied the knot with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in Milan, Italy.

The power couple both 29-years-old started dating back in 2013 after they met during the filming of a shampoo advert.

The Anushka magic seems to have rubbed into his performance as the lad from Punjab has been breaking and setting records right, left and centre.
Here are a few records on which Kohli registered his name this year:
- Kohli managed to aggregate 600 plus runs in a Test series three times in 2017, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid, who achieved the same feat twice.
- The skipper recently equalled former Australian captain Ricky Ponting’s record of nine consecutive series win.
- Kohli broke Brian Lara’s record by scoring a most double hundred as Test captain.
- Virat scored a total of 2818 runs across all format in international cricket this year, a feat that places him in third behind Sri Lanka great Kumar Sangakkara with 2868 in 2014 and Australian legend Ponting’s 2833 in 2005.
- He scored his 12th Test century as Indian captain which took him past Sunil Gavaskar’s 11, while Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar complete the top 4. MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, MAK Pataudi are joint fifth.
- Kohli now has 52 international centuries to his name, with only Sachin Tendulkar ahead at hundred tons.
