A new tug of war will be played among the cricketers for the under-19 world cup starting from 13 January to 3 February 2018.  The 16-team event will be the splendid event for India to watch because India has already bagged thrice this title in 2000, 2008 and 2012. Now under the captainship of Prithvi Shaw it will be astounding to watch India conquering it once again.  

Here is the list of the top three runners under-19 who will be flicking the fate of this year’s match.

Prithvi Shaw

The so-called next Sachin Tendulkar, Prithvi Shaw entered the limelight after when he scored whopping 546 runs off 330 balls for his school team Rizvi Springfield in a Harris Shield match. It was the highest score in any form of the game since 1901. On his debut, he scored a century and became the second youngest Mumbai batsmen after Sachin Tendulkar. 

In the recently concluded series with England, he scored 160 runs in just five innings at an average of 32 and a strike rate of over 100 and in the Poms toured India earlier last year he managed to score 126 runs in three innings.

The current captain of the junior team, this Mumbaikar feels no turning back as he has lived up to the reputation as per his performance. As the mindblower has earned him a special place in the Junior Indian cricket team.

Shubham Gill

The Vice Captain of the under 19 Indian cricket team, Shubham Gill is a tailor-made for the list A format as he owns his astonishing ways to pace his innings. Scoring 278 runs in just four innings at 93 runs per innings and a strike rate over 100 in the five-match ODI series in England.

This is not the first time that Shubham has bagged this much of runs as he scored 351 runs in just 4 innings at an average of 117 and a strike rate of 105 when England toured to India last year.

Everyone will have their eyes glued to this 17-year-old player in the under-19 World Cup this year. 

Himanshu Rana

An ace player who has a whale of experience as he already has played over 30 matches for Haryana in the domestic circuit. As his debut for Haryana as a 16 years old, managed himself to become a mainstream as he amassed 697 runs in 20 innings an average of 37 with the help of two centuries and three fifties in the Ranji trophy.

He made his debut in T20 and has played over 11 matches for his state. Earlier last year when England toured India, Himanshu added 211 runs in four matches at an average of 53 and a strike rate of 96.  He was not able to perform his valiant performance in England as he just managed to score 82 runs in four average matches at an average of 20.5.

He will be a significant approach for the Indian team as he already opts a huge experience in the game, which will certainly have its outcome on the upcoming world cup.
