Ind vs SL: Shardul Thakur finally gets his chance
Shardul Thakur has been with the Indian team for more than a year but unfortunately, did not get a chance to play in the final XI till now. Shardul Thakur makes his debut as he has been finally given the opportunity in the fourth One Day international against Sri Lanka.
After having already sealed the ODI series , Team India on Thursday decided to rest some of the players in order to give chance to some of the players waiting on the benches. Manish pandey , Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur have been given the opportunity in the fourth One Day international against Sri Lanka.

Shardul Thakur has been with the Indian team for more than a year but unfortunately, did not get a chance to play in the final XI till now. Although, he came to limelight during the 2017 Indian Premier League where he did impress at times, picking up a total of 12 wickets at a decent economy rate for T20 format(8.25).
While addressing the media ahead of the 4th ODI, Thakur explained how he had been patiently preparing for the big moment. "Over the past few years I have been working hard. Whenever I get a chance to play I should be ready. Keeping that in mind I always prepare for the game. Whether they play me or not that's the management's role. But if you ask me personally I just have to be ready for the game whenever I get the opportunity and I prepare accordingly," Thakur said.
