ICC U-19 WC: India beat Australia by 100 runs
Chasing Australia also got off to a good start but some tight lines by Indians built run rate pressure on the Aussies and they ended up losing wickets in a pack. Overall, India was better in every department of the game and deservedly cruised to a comfortable victory in their opener against Australia.
India kicked off their U-19 World Cup campaign in a tremendous fashion, defeating Australia by 100 runs and producing a clinical performance. Batting first, India started the match on a front foot as skipper Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill put on 180 for the first wicket. Talented Shaw missed out on hundred while Gill scored a rapid 61, setting up a perfect platform for other batsmen.
The Aussies, who were below average in the field with a plethora of dropped catches, pulled things back towards the end and restricted them to 328.
