
National Sports Day: Modi pays tribute to Dhyan Chand, launch sports talent search portal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the Wizard and extended his congratulation to all athletes and sports lovers.
National Sports Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of great Dhyan Chand Singh, who is regarded as the greatest field hockey player of all-time, helping India achieve the mammoth feat, winning 3 Olympic gold medals and helping India establish its name in the world of sports.
Thus on the special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the Wizard and extended his congratulation to all athletes and sports lovers.

Modi also launched the National Sports Talent Search portal which would provide essential direction and support to youngsters in their pursuit sports aspirations.
