India will start their Hockey World League Final campaign against world no 2 and title holders Australia in Pool B match and will be hoping to start the tournament on a strong note. The Blues are under a relatively new head coach and a team whose average age is 23.5 years, but their recent continental success proves that they can compete at the highest level.

Even Australia is playing under a new head coach and their first step towards reclaiming the number one spot in world hockey will begin against India, thus the host can expect a strong push.

India's best finish in the event came in 2014-15 when they defeated Netherlands to claim bronze and will look to better that performance or at least emulate it.
