PKL 2017: Thalaivas and Pirates prevail in thrilling contests

Ajay Thakur led from the front as Tamil Thalaivas defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants (35-34) in a thrilling contest on Tuesday.   In another close contest, Patna Pirates beat Dabang Delhi (36-34)  as the latter extend their losing streak.

In a major upset, Tamil Thalaivas defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants (35-34) in a thrilling contest on Tuesday  as Captain Ajay Thakur led from the front, scoring 14 points for his side. After a very poor performance earlier in the tournament, Thalaivas have made a strong comeback with two back to back wins against top teams and must have boosted their confidence quite a lot.

In another close contest, Patna Pirates beat Dabang Delhi (36-34)  as the latter extend their losing streak. With the win, Pirates have climbed to the top position in Zone B with 65 points. After inconsistent performances of late, Meraj Sheykh finally looked to have brought his A game, but Pirates Captain Pardeep Narwal proved to be just too good on Tuesday.

Both the matches had been played at Thyagraj Sports Complex in Delhi.
