Manika Batra cruises to 2nd round after defeating Britain's Tin-Tin Ho in Table Tennis singles event

India's star women's table tennis player Manika Batra has reached the second round of the singles category of the ongoing Tokyo Olympic Games here. Manika defeated Britain's Tin-Tin Ho Do 4-0 in the first round match played on Saturday. Manika won 11-7, 11-10, 11-10, 11-9. The match lasted 30 minutes.

Manika has achieved this victory after overcoming the disappointment of defeat in the mixed event. Playing with Achanta Kamal, Manika had lost in the last-16 round of mixed doubles matches on Saturday itself.

This was Batra and Kamal's first match in this Olympic event. Both of them were defeated 4-0 by the pair of Taiwan Lin Yu Tzu and Cheng Ching. The Taiwanese partners won the match 11-8, 11-6, 11-5, 11-4. The match lasted 27 minutes.
