Wrestling World No. 1 and India's star wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Thursday lost to Vanesa Kaladzinskaya of Belarus in the quarterfinals of the women's freestyle 53kg event.

The Belarusian wrestler won by knocking the 26-year-old Indian wrestler. Vanessa put pressure on India's number one seeded wrestler early on to take a 2-0 lead. While making a great comeback in the game, Phogat soon levelled 2-2, but where the Belarus wrestler was also going to be behind, she also added two more points in the same sequence, later getting a point again, which helped the Indian wrestler in the second half.
