The second phase of the PSL began on June 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Multan Sultans defeated Islamabad United by 31 runs in the first qualifier match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) and reached their maiden PSL final.

All this happened in the 19th over of the innings. Sohail Tanvir scored 5 runs in the first two balls, including a four, while Khushdil hit sixes in the remaining four balls of Akif Javed; he collected a total of 29 runs in this over.
Javed gave 21 runs in 3 overs, while after 4 overs this figure reached 50 runs. Khushdil scored an unbeaten 42 runs in this match, hitting 5 sixes in 22 balls. Multan Sultans scored 180 for 5 in 20 overs.

Islamabad could only reach 149 runs while chasing Multan Sultan's score of 180. Usman Khawaja scored the most 70 runs for Islamabad, while Sohail Tanvir took 3 wickets for just 17 runs in his 4 overs for Multan. He was also chosen as the player of the match due to his brilliant bowling performance.

Pakistan is placed at the 6th position on the points table with 7 points while Afghanistan is at the rock bottom and yet to open its account.
The West Indies, on the other hand, have won just one match and lost four, besides a washed out meeting with South Africa.
