Aurangabad Municipal Corporation opens camp for property assessment in Vitkheda

AURANGABAD: The municipal authorities on Saturday set up a two - day camp in Vitkheda area to attract taxpayers. The municipal authorities are expecting to reach out to at least 800 property owners during the two day event in the locality. Deputy municipal commissioner Ravindra Nikam inaugurated the camp in presence of corporator Nandu Ghodale and others.Through the camp, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation has been offering a facility of paying property tax and water charges. The authorities are also registering complaints and suggestions of local residents with regard to civic amenities.On Saturday, about 350 property owners approached the authorities and offered to assess their properties. Apart from Vitkheda, the civic body is also planning to set up similar camps in other parts including - Padegaon, Chikhalthana, Harsul, Satara, Devlai, Mukundwadi and Garkheda among other places.Vitkheda is one among many localities in the city where in the municipal body has not yet assessed many properties.There are about 1.75 lakh registered properties within the municipal limits but officials believe that about 60,000 properties are still out of reach of the authorities.
