Seven fall from speeding EMU train in Chennai, three killed

Three commuters were killed on the spot, and four others injured, when they were hit by a signalling post near St Thomas Mount railway station on Thursday. They were travelling footboard on the Chennai Beach -bound EMU train from Tirumalpur. The accident took place around 9 a.m. and the train was moved to Beach station the after injured were rushed to the GH. Initial reports say that the backpack of one of the commuters caught in the signalling post and he and six others were thrown off from the train in the next few seconds. The details of those dead were not immediately known, said Government Railway Police sources.
