CHENNAI: Clarifying on an apparent decision by V K Sasikala 's lawyers to get her transferred from Bengaluru prison to Chennai Central prison in Puzhal, AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran on Thursday denied any such move.He was responding to queries from reporters at the party headquarters in Chennai, on assuming charge as deputy general secretary. Former chief minister J Jayalalithaa had often referred to her main rival as "evil forces".On the growing public anger against the party, in the wake of recent developments involving Sasikala, Dinakaran said it was "artificially created and a planned attempt" by the enemies to spread false propaganda. "AIADMK will sweep the general elections and assembly polls in 2021," he said. The former MP from Periyakulam constituency said the party welcomed to its fold, with motherly affection, all those who drifted away. Dinakaran said Sasikala was appointed AIADMK general secretary as per party bylaws, and that her action against some of the rebels, in removing them from their posts, was valid.Dinakaran, Sasikala's nephew, said the party was founded by M G Ramachandran to take on the "evil force" called DMK and the latter would continue to remain its enemy. "Neither an individual nor any family member had influenced the government in the past, and the status quo will be maintained in the future too," he said, refuting to call the group led by the rebels, a faction of the party. He alleged that DMK leader M K Stalin made a futile attempt to topple the government using former CM O Panneerselvam.
