Threat to Kerala CM: RSS leader arrested, sent on judicial remand

INDORE: RSS leader Kundan Chandrawat was arrested on Monday for making statements conducing to public mischief by announcing a bounty of over Rs 1 crore on the head of Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan Chandrawat was produced before the chief judicial magistrate Sanjay Singh , who sent him to judicial custody. It could also incite someone to act against the state or disturb peace.RSS had later stripped Chandrawat of his duties as RSS' Ujjain mahanagar sah-prachar pramukh. He will taken to Bherogarh Jail , city superintendent of police Satish Samadhia told TOI.The FIR was filed against Chandrawat at Madhav Nagar police station under Section 505 1 (B) of the IPC for making statements with intent to cause fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the state or against the public tranquility.Chandrawat, at a protest function by Jan Adhikar Samiti on March 1, had held Vijayan responsible for killing of 300 RSS workers in Kerala and offered to hand over his property worth over Rs 1 crore to 'whoever beheads Vijayan and brings his head'.Chandrawat, who had withdrawn his statement and expressed regret, had also referred to Godhra incident and subsequent riots in Gujarat and threatened the Left leaders saying that '3 lakh people will be slain to exact revenge for killing 300 RSS workers'.A complaint in this regard was lodged by Madhav Nagar police station in-charge M S Parmar, who claimed that the statements created fear and alarm among the public.
