The doctor who checked her said he suspected she might have been sexually assaulted, following which the girl’s mother lodged a complaint of rape and murder against an unidentified person. Dalit organisations called for a shut-down in Shrirampur on Sunday in protest against the incident. When they returned home, the younger girl collapsed. She was rushed to a private clinic in Karegaon, where the doctor attending her told her parents she should be shifted to a bigger hospital.The girl’s parents, who are labourers, took her to the Sakhar Kamgaar hospital in Srirampur around 2 pm where the child was declared brought dead. Nashik: The Srirampur taluka police in Ahmednagar have booked an unidentified person in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a five-year-old dalit girl.The girl, from Karegaon in Srirampur taluka of Ahmednagar district, 110 km from Nashik, died under mysterious circumstances on Saturday afternoon.Sub Divisional Police Officer Somnath Waghchaure of Srirampur said thegirl, who studies in an anganwadi, had gone with her sister, who is two years older, to the toilet in a farm on Saturday around noon.
