Workers injured in fridge compressor blast out of danger

Noida: The eight workers of a takeaway restaurant in Sector 120 who got burnt in a blast that occurred in the compressor of a fridge on Friday, were shifted to Delhi's Safdarjung and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan hospitals on Saturday.The workers were earlier admitted to Tripathi hospital in Noida's Sector 119. Doctors say that the workers are out of danger, but will take time to recover," Chandra said.According to Divya Grewal, owner of the restaurant, four of the injured workers- Rohit, Bheem Singh, Vir Singh and Naresh- were admitted to Safdarjung hospital while the rest of them were moved to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan hospital. Of all the eight persons, only Gaurav has been discharged while the rest are undergoing treatment. "Many of them have suffered burns between 50-70 percent but doctors expect that they will survive. "All the injured persons were referred to higher centres and taken to Delhi early Saturday morning," said an administration official from Tripathi hospital.The explosion took place around 9pm on Friday at Handi Mittra Di restaurant which is situated in Amrapali Zodiac Society.The eight workers, identified as Bheem Singh (27), Vir Singh (28), Rohit (18), Naresh (14), Harish (14), Ram Singh (25) and Deepak (18) were injured in the accident along with Rohit's younger brother Gaurav (14).Mahesh Chandra, Gaurav's father, told TOI that the incident occurred when his son had gone to serve food to his elder brother Rohit who works as a delivery boy at the restaurant.
