Begusarai: Even after more than ten months of Munger rail bridge being opened by PM Narendra Modi, passengers are yet to get the facility of any express train through this bridge. “There is absolutely no problem in running express trains through the bridge from our side,” he said. “The bridge facilitates new route to Howrah and can be effectively used to lessen the load on the overburdened Barauni-Kiul-Howrah main line. However, what stops the railways from using the bridge to its potential is truly perplexing,” he added.Commenting on the issue, East-Central Zone Rail User Consultative Committee member Sanjay Singh said they had raised the issue during two of their meetings with zonal officials, including the GM. Begusarai Rail User Association secretary Dilip Kumar Sinha said, “We have sent several reminders to zonal officials and Railway Board members in this regard, but to no effect.”Sinha further said even some express trains like Bhagalpur-Jammu Tawi Amaranth Express, Jainagar-Howrah Dhuryan Express and Bhagalpur-Muzaffarpur Jansewa Express, which were proposed to be diverted through this route last year, had not been done either.
