ISSF WC: Pooja Ghatkar secures India`s first Medal

Pune: Pune girl Pooja Ghatkar has made country proud by securing India`s first medal at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in New Delhi. She finished third and claimed Bronze medal in the 10 m Air Rifle event here on Friday, scoring a total of 228.8. China`s Mengyao Shi won the Gold medal by scoring a total of 251.1, which is also a world record. While, another Chinese player Lijie Dong stood second by scoring 248.9.

Ghatkar also has a gold medalist from the 2014 Asian Air Gun Championship to her name.The ISSF World Cup is held annually and is governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation. The event provides a platform for qualification to the Olympic shooting competitions.
