Five kg opium seized, 3 held

Pune: The crime branch of the Pune police early on Wednesday arrested three men from a lodge in Rasta Peth and recovered 5 kg opium worth Rs 12.50 lakh from them. They had brought the contraband from Jodhpur in Rajasthan for sale in Pune.Acting on a tip-off, a crime branch team led by inspector Rajendra Kadam arrested Rana Patel (23), Ruparam Patel (25) and Sarvan Patel (24) all from Jodhpur in Rajasthan from the lodge, Suresh Bhosale, assistant commissioner of police (crime), said.Three teams were constituted to trace the lodge and the suspects.tnn
