On June 23, a horrific plane crash incident happened. Air India Flight 182, a Boeing 747, blows up 31,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, south of Ireland. A total of 329 people were killed, including 268 Canadian citizens, 27 British citizens and 24 Indian citizens.

It runs by by the Central government . With over 4 million students, INGOU claims to be the largest university in the world.

The veteran actor Sanjeev Kumar passed away on November 6. Born on July 9, 1938, he won several major awards including two National Film Awards for Best Actor for his performances in the movies Dastak (1971) and Koshish (1973). Kumar had played unforgettable roles in movies like- Sholay, Trishul, "Pati Patni aur Woh", "Angoor", "Biwi O Biwi" and "Hero".
