"Padmaavat' row: Women in Chittorgarh threaten to commit "jauhar' if the film releases

News | Sunday | 14th January, 2018

Summary:

The spokesperson of Rajput Karni Sena Virendra Singh said that on January 17th, national highways and railway tracks across Chittorgarh would be blocked.

Right from Karni Sena to politicians, everyone is opposing Padmaavat’s release. And now in a shocking turn of events female members of Kshatriya community in Chittorgarh have threatened to perform “jauhar”, that is self immolation, if the screening of the film is not stopped by the government.

Talking about it the spokesperson of Rajput Karni Sena Virendra Singh said that on January 17th, national highways and railway tracks across Chittorgarh would be blocked.

And according to him, a representative board will also meet PM Modi on January 16. He said, “A request will be made to him as well to stop the screening of the film. But, if despite all these measures the film is released, the women of Kshatriya Samaj will perform jauhar on January 24 — the day when the queen performed jauhar — and at the same site,”

Well, now we wonder whether the release of the film will be stalled or not.
