Verdict in Salman Khan's black buck poaching case to be announced on April 5

Yes, as per reports lawyers of all other parties, apart from Salman’s lawyer Hastimal Saraswat, were present in the court hearing that took place today (March 28). Final arguments from both the sides have been completed in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Rural Court in Jodhpur and the verdict will be announced on April 5. 

The case involved  Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and a local person named Dushyant Singh.

It happened when they were shooting for their film 'Hum Saath Saath Hai' (1999), Salman allegedly went on a shooting tour with Saif, Neelam, Sonali and Tabu.

In the case, two black bucks were killed in Kankani area, after which a case was filed against Salman and others. The case was filed by the local Bishnoi community, who consider the black buck to be the reincarnation of their religious Guru, Bhagwan Jambeshwar.

In 2007, Salman was locked in the Jodhpur jail for over a week before the court granted him bail. In 2017, Salman was acquitted in an Arms Act case linked to the black buck poaching case. The actor pleaded “not guilty” to charges of violating the law by keeping unlicensed weapons and using them.

In two other cases, Salman allegedly killed two chinkaras in Bhawad area and another one in Ghoda Farms. He was, however, acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in July, 2016, in the Chinkara poaching case.
