Ram Mukherjee (1933-2017)

Ram Mukherjee, father of Rani Mukherjee was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He is one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios, Mumbai. He is most known for his films, ‘Hum Hindustani’ and ‘Leader’

Kundan Shah (1947-2017)

Kundan Shah was an Indian film director and writer. He is most known for his comedy classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ and his TV series ‘Nukkad’ with Saeed Akhtar Mirza.

Lekh Tandon (1929-2017)

Lekh Tandon was an Indian filmmaker and actor. He had directed numerous Bollywood movies and Indian TV Serials. He gained national fame due to success of his directorial ventures Professor, Prince, Ek Baar Kaho and Agar Tum Na Hote

Tom Alter (1950-2017)

Tom Alter was battling stage four skin cancer at a Mumbai hospital. Tom Alter was also a part of other hit TV shows like Shaktiman and Captain Vyom apart from movies. Tom was also honoured with the Padma Shri in 2008 for his services to the field of arts and cinema.

Inder Kumar (1973-2017)

 He died on July 28, 2017 due to a heart attack. The young actor was just 44 years old. He did many Bollywood films and daily soaps, and was said to be under depression due to lack of work.

Vinod Khanna (1946-2017)

Veteran actor and one of Bollywood’s superstars during the 70s and 80s, Vinod Khanna said goodbye to world on 27 April 2017. He was battling cancer for a long while, and was 70 years old. 

Om Puri (1950-2017)

Bollywood lost its gem in the form of Om Puri. The actor died due to a heart attack on January 6, 2017. The sudden demise of the actor left Bollywood in a state of shock. 

Reema Lagoo (1958-2017)

Renowned actor Reema Lagoo, who lent a dash of glamour to Hindi filmdom's concept of motherhood with her sober, yet sleek 'maa' roles, breathed her last at a city hospital following a severe cardiac arrest.

Abis Rizvi (1968-2017)

In a terror attack which happened in Istanbul during New Year’s Eve, the Bollywood producer was gunshot in the club, where he was celebrating at the bash, ringing in 2017.

 ‘Peepli Live’ actor Sitaram Panchal (1963-2017)

Actor Sitaram Panchal, who was struggling with lung and kidney cancer from the past three years, has finally lost the battle and breathed at his residence.
