Honda Cars India to stop production at Greater Noida plant after more than two decades

The automaker manufactured models like the Honda City, Honda CR-V and Honda Civic at the Greater Noida unit. According to a report by ET Auto, there has been no production at the Greater Noida plant this month. While Honda Cars India will shift all the production-related activities to the larger manufacturing unit located in Tapukara, Alwar (Rajasthan), the automaker will continue to operate the corporate office and R&D department from the Greater Noida plant.

Honda Cars India had reported a 54.67 per cent growth in domestic sales to 9,990 units in November 2020 from 6,459 units in the year-ago month. However, its export sales declined 70.47 per cent to 31 units in November 2020 from 105 units in November 2019. One of the largest automobile manufacturers of the country, Honda Cars India was established in December 1995. It has a manufacturing facility each in Greater Noida and Tapukara. At present, its product portfolio includes the fifth-generation Honda City, fourth-generation Honda City, Honda Amaze, Honda Jazz, Honda WR-V, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V.
