Summary: Mahindra has launched the all-new Marazzo in India. Priced in the Rs 9.99 lakh - Rs 13.95 lakh (ex-showroom India) range, it slots neatly in between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Rs 6.34 lakh - Rs 10.69 lakh) and the Toyota Innova Crysta (Rs 14.34 lakh - Rs 22.70 lakh), creating a niche for itself in the MPV market. The Mahindra Marazzo is available in four variants, the prices of which (introductory, ex-showroom India) is as follows: M2 7-seater - Rs 9.99 lakh M2 8-seater - Rs 10.04 lakh M4 7-seater - Rs 10.95 lakh M4 8-seater - Rs 11 lakh M6 7-seater - Rs 12.40 lakh M6 8-seater - Rs 12.45 lakh M8 7-seater- Rs 13.90 lakh M8 8-seater - Rs 13.95 lakh The Mahindra Marazzo is a truly global product, with most of the development of the MPV done at the company’s MANA (Mahindra Automotive North America) development centre in Detroit, design inputs taken from subsidiary Pininfarina and of course the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai and Mahindra headquarters in Nashik. The overall design, Mahindra says, is inspired by a shark. This includes the smoked dual-barrel headlamps, the chrome shark-tooth inserts on the grille, large foglamps with eyebrow like LED DRLs. The hood smoothly flows onto the windshield, giving the Marazzo an imposing look up front. At the side, the Marazzo gets the typical MPV traits - the large glasshouse, the flat roof and a stretched out body. But there are flourishes all around - the chromed door handles, the large 17-inch alloy wheels with fat 215-section tyres, the blacked out pillars creating that floating-roof effect. The shark-inspired snout is evident when the Marazzo is looked at from the side. At the rear, the typical MPV bulk has been cleverly hidden using a large chrome strip on the hatch-door. The taillamps are also inspired by the shark, especially its tail - all lamps are integrated into this. The exhaust tips are hidden from view. There are six colours on offer - Maroon, Silver, Purple, White, Black and Blue.
