The new most-powerful variant of the Velar also gets updated brakes and suspension while the powertrain tech has been re-tuned for the added performance. It also gets a host of visual differentiators such as a new front bumper with larger air intakes to feed that large V8 and also cool the brakes that now feature shiny red calipers. It also gets a new grille as well as an updated rear bumper with quad exhaust outlets. The Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition also gets 21-inch forged aluminium wheels, while 22-inch rims are optional. It also gets an exclusive colour option for a Velar called the Satin Byron Blue.

JLR has also given it some special touches on the inside, including the twin-stitched, perforated and quilted Windsor leather along with 20-way electrically adjustable front seats with memory, heating, cooling and massage functions. It also gets a sports steering wheel with aluminium gear shift paddles, a knurled finish for the dials on the central console and an optional carbon fibre pack as well. Even the digital dials on the 12.3-inch interactive driver display are digitally ‘knurled’.

While it may be a Velar that can accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds (claimed), it’s also a Range Rover. Hence, it has an AWD system which has been recalibrated for all the extra power from the engine. Even the active rear locking differential, the 8-speed auto gearbox and the air suspension have been tuned to suit the new motor. The exhaust has been tinkered with as well for more noise.

Jaguar Land Rover India are yet to confirm the new Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition for our market. However, if launched here, expect it cost upwards of Rs 2 crore, which is significantly more than the current top-spec Velar that carries a sticker price of Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom). JLR has stated that this variant will only be available for sale for a period of twelve months. Meanwhile, in terms of rivals, the new variant goes up against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Bentley Bentayga.
