The popularity of the new Thar has exceeded the company`s expectations. It currently commands a waiting period of 10 months or even more in case of certain variants.
Mahindra Thar petrol is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that develops 150bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. Mahindra Thar diesel is powered by a 2.2-litre motor that churns out 130bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. Both engines are available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed AT (torque convertor) transmission choices. 4x4 is standard across the range.
