Valparai hill station in Tamil Nadu will soon have a Botanical Garden and a Boat House

Valparai, the solo hill station in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, is about to get a botanical garden and a boat house. As of now, only Sholaiyar dam as well as the tea estates serves the purpose.

According to media reports, a botanical garden and a boat house in Valparai is in progress these days. It is expected to get completed by December 2020 and the inauguration for public visitors will be done in January 2021.

Reportedly, Valparai municipal commissioner K Paunraj examined the boat house construction activity on July 25. S P Velumani, Municipal Administration Minister, had laid the foundation stone for the two tourist places in March 2019.

The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned INR 5.47 cr for building the botanical garden on 4.5 ac of PWD land. For now, half of the work has been done. On the other hand, INR 2.5 crore was allocated by the government to build the boat house on 4.25 ac of land near the municipal inspection bungalow.
