Kerala, as an Indian state became one of the 19 places to visit, shortlisted by CNN this year for travel enthusiasts to visit in the year 2019. Stating that Kerala lives up to its moniker, God’s Own Country, the reports say that this area of India has it all the natural elements: sun, sea, sand, good food, houseboats, culture and wildlife. With its spectacular natural landscapes that includes the think palm trees and sprawling backwaters, thus, lends the region the nickname “God’s Own Country.”

Despite the catastrophic floods, leaving the state and it`s tourism in shambles, most of the natural spots and tourism sites remains undamaged.

Famous for it`s loomy backwaters and beaches, Kerala is a place that accommodates every type of traveller. Beaches like Kovalam, a good surfing spot and Varkala, a `relaxing` spot are a must. 

Tourists can spend a lot of time in houseboats on rent and take a look at the beauty, surrounded by the nature of the `God`s Own Country`. 

If you dislike the heat, a hill station by the name of Munnar is a great destination, known for it`s cold temperature as well as it`s tea plantations. The most popular wildlife sanctuary, the Periyar National Park has a wide population of Asiatic elephants across corners of the jungle.

Kerala is most famous for it`s wide range of spices, coconuts, and thier prawn curry (their signature dish).

Other places in this list includes Lima (Peru), Grand Canyon (United States), Christchurch (New Zealand), Hawaii Islands (United States), Jaffa (Israel) etc.

One must visit the God`s Own Country, once in a lifetime because you can`t seemingly denying the view of the Indian nature and it`s flawless beauty, as a state.
