Summary:

Uttarakhand government has decided to ease travel restrictions imposed amidst Coronavirus pandemic. One of the biggest relief for the tourist is that now the travel to Uttarakhand won’t require a negative Covid-19 test report.

Another big relief for tourist is that they won’t be required to book a minimum two-day stay at hotels anymore.

Earlier, negative COVID-19 certificates or minimum two-day booking at hotels were mandatory for those visiting the state. Tourists were earlier allowed to enter the state only after providing a COVID-19 negative report, with the test conducted not more than 96 hours before their arrival.

In its fresh norms, the government directed the management of hotels to immediately intimate district administrations if any guest is found infected with COVID-19.

Earlier this month, the state government adopted the Unlock 4.0 guidelines issued by the Centre allowing all activities outside the containment zones with certain restrictions.

As per a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the health department, all inbound people from other states irrespective of the mode of travel are required to mandatorily register themselves.
