Air Deccan to start flights to Dimapur from May 1

AGARTALA: Air Deccan will start the Kolkata-Dimapur flight service via Shillong and Agartala from May 1 under the the regional air connectivity scheme of Ude Desh Ke Aam Nagrik (UDAN). It will start from Kolkata at 7.50 am and makes stops at Agartala and Shillong en route to Dimapur. Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials said initially a 19-seater will operate between Kolkata and Dimapur . The company, which is resuming services in the northeast after it had withdrawn operations in 2007, ran a test flight that landed successfully at the Umroi airport from Agartala on Thursday.
