FIR against 16 teachers for obtaining jobs with fake certs

AGARTALA: The state education department has lodged an FIR against 16 graduate and post-graduate teachers, accusing them of obtaining jobs with fake academic certificates in government-run schools of the state.The case was filed against the teachers after the government decided to ensure probity in government services. "I personally urged all the accused to voluntarily return the offer letters. We found that 16 teachers did not return the offer and rather joined service," said Nath.The FIR was filed under sections 466 and 471 of the IPC. Altogether 132 complaints were received by the department and all of them were sent to the respective institutions and universities for verification.
