Tripura pays glowing tributes to Maharaja Bir Bikram

Tripura on Monday celebrated the 111th birth anniversary of erstwhile King 'Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya' (1923-1947). In front of Ujjayanta Palace, which is the royal residence of Tripura and founded by Bir Bikram in 1901, people paid floral tribute to Bir Bikram. In his speech, Deb said Maharaja Bir Bikram was a visionary king and he was the architect of modern Tripura. It is notable that, after coming to power in the state, the BJP has celebrated Bir Bikram's birth anniversary at government initiative.
