Summary:

The Congress in Tripura has reacted sharply to a Facebook post where Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb's teenaged son was seen flaunting a Light Machine Gun (LMG) in a Durga Puja pandal. Demanding an inquiry into the incident, senior Congress leader Subal Bhowmik said, “During Durga Puja the CM's son was roaming with a gun. We demand an inquiry to find out how he got the gun and whether it was licensed,” he said. “When supporters of opposition parties upload or share anything against the state government or the chief minister, they are immediately arrested and harassed by the police,” Bhowmik further said. Reacting to Bhowmik's statement, Tripura BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee said, “Congress leaders have started personal attacks after losing their identity in the state.”He also said that instead of making it public, the Congress leaders could have brought the issue in the knowledge of the department concerned..
