Tripura deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Friday presented a Rs 19,891 crore tax-free Budget for 2020-21. The budget proposed several schemes including setting up a NITI Aayog-type state body, new schemes for farmers, children and students besides for rural areas. The third budget of the two-year-old BJP-led coalition government shows a Rs 511.41 crore deficit. He said that a series of measures have been taken to increase the tax collections.
