The tourist spots in the state have remained closed since March in view of COVID19 pandemic and consequent lockdowns.

The state economy to some extent depends on tourism.

State government has decided to reopen all the tourist spots from the first day of October.To boost the tourism industry, the state government has taken some decisions.

Livelihood of people who are dependent on tourism have faced a crisis situation due to the COVID19 pandemic.

Aiming at promoting tourism in a big way, the tourism department is planning to construct a helipad near Dumbur Lake in Karbook sub-division.

Pranajit Singha Roy tourism minister said  “The tourists, who want to enjoy the beauty of Dumbur Lake, will be able to avail helicopter service.

This will be a good bonanza for the tourists.”

Dumbur Lake in Chabimura area is one of the main tourist destinations in Tripura.
