Tripura entrepreneur brews tea from Bamboo leaves, names it 'Bamboo leaf tea'

Taking inspiration from China and Japan, a tribal entrepreneur from Tripura has prepared a refreshing drink from bamboo leaves and named it `Bamboo Leaf Tea`.

Businessmen from other states are also ready to market this product in India and abroad.

Samir Jamatia, 36, a resident of the remote village of Garji in Gomti district, is an expert of bamboo technology and has spent many years in China while working in this profession and has also travelled to Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia.

He studied the process of preparing the said drink in depth.

Jamatia said that this drink is rich in anti-oxidant and anti-biotic properties.

He said that even tea enthusiasts and businessmen and exporters of Tamil Nadu have shown interest in it.

Jamatia has worked with the National Bamboo Mission and the Bamboo Society of India in the past.
