Tripura TMC questions police role in protection of `tainted` CPM members

After receiving a complaint from Joykishore Jamatia , a tribal leader of CPM, the party expelled Joykishore to save the minister, they said.

"Whenever there is any specific case of moral turpitude against any of our leaders, the party has taken action against them immediately.

"In the tenure of the Left Front government, Tripura has become a safe haven for rapists.

CPM never allows any corruption in any form," said Dhar.

AGARTALA: The Trinamool Congress `s state unit staged a demonstration outside East Agartala women`s police station on Sunday night in protest against the role of police in protecting CPM leaders and cadres accused of rape and molestation."In the tenure of the Left Front government, Tripura has become a safe haven for rapists.

The situation becomes worse when ministers, counsellors and ADC members are accused of rape and molestation and no action is taken," said Sushanta Choudhury, president of TMC`s youth wing.They alleged that forest and rural development minister of the state, Naresh Jamatia, was accused of molestation.
