Flood loss in Tripura over Rs 121 crore: Government

AGARTALA/ITANAGAR: The state has incurred an estimated loss of over Rs 121 crore in last month's floods in West Tripura, Khowai and Sepahijala districts, state revenue department officials said here on Saturday. The government has been providing Rs 95,000 to houses that were fully damaged, Rs 50,000 to those severely damaged and Rs 3,000 for partly damaged houses.An emergency meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority decided to sanction Rs 14.20 crore as compensation for the entire state. Officials said crop damage is estimated to be around Rs 37.53 crore. On the other hand, Bhalukpong and adjoining areas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh are flooded following heavy rain since Friday morning. The process of giving compensation has already started apart from emergency relief funds..
