To curb pollution, green belts must in industrial zones, community land, landfill sites

Agra: To control air pollution in the state, UP Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) has ordered that green belts be developed in all industrial zones, construction sites, community land and abandoned landfill sites. If the land is barren, then babool (Gum Arabic tree), sheesham, amla (Indian gooseberry) saplings will be planted. The plantation will depend on pollution level and pollution potential of the sites concerned. )Giving details, officials said plantation in industrial area have been categorised into “red, orange and green” zones according to pollution potential in the area. If particulate matter level is high, then saplings of neem, mahua (honey tree), sheesham (North Indian Rosewood) and amaltas (Cassia Fistula) will be planted..
